Supervising art assets’ production and art style

A few examples of the many files created for supervising, style development and commenting purposes.

During the years I have been supervising our outsourcing partners and developing the look & feel of various art assets.

The work has contained coming up with art styles in the pre-production and also figuring out the visual and technical guidelines for the outsourced teams that will work on the productions. I have helped creating the art reference packages sent to the outsource teams, collecting art assets needed to be shown in the style guides and preparing the needed batches in both visual and written formats. After the production has started I have actively taken part in commenting, giving feedback and doing overpaints and other visual fixes to get the results look as good as possible with the given time and crew. Communicating with the teams and understanding the importance of good guidelines, clear comments, pipeline workflows and visual feedback has become quite important for me when supervising.

The biggest production for me was the Angry Birds Toons in which I was part of the production art team creating the style of the series and also later supervising the art style and checking the final visuals with the comp team in the end.

Other nice projects have contained developing and commenting the rendering styles of the 3d characters of the original Angry Birds characters with our great 3d team.

I have also been supervising art assets and creating the art style in the Angry Birds Reloaded game and various smaller animation projects.
